Human Rights Protection and Legal Service Center, HRPLSC-Nepal is a province based NGO registered on 2000 in DAO of Western Rukum under the Social Organisations Registration Act, 1978. HRPLSC envisions a just and equitable society wherein everyone exercises his or her fundamental rights in a fear free environment. It has been working in the Lumbani and Karnali province area of Human Rights protection and promotion, Good governance and Social Accountability, Conflict transformation and peace building through awareness building activities, advocacy campaigns and community mobilization.
 
HRPLSC has been implementing the project "Engaging CSOs for Legal Awareness, Legal Aid & Outreach" in Western Rukum and Salyan districts with the support of Enhancing Access to Justice through Institutional Reform Project (A2J) which is implemented under National Implemented Modality under the overall leadership of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (MoLJPA). The project will be implemented jointly and in a close partnership with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Nepal.
In this context, HRPLSC-Nepal intends to hire qualified Nepali citizen for the following position for the successful implementation of this project.
 
1. Post Title: Legal Coordinator

Required Qualifications and Experiences:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Law (license holder),
  • At least five years' work experiences in similar field(s),
  • Knowledge and skills to operate MS Office package along with email- internet is must,
  • The candidate should have sound skills on report writing, documentation, record keeping,
  • Sound knowledge and skills in English and Nepali Languages (both oral and written),
  • The candidate should have knowledge about the role and responsibility of judicial committee and their rights and service to increase access to justice, strengthening the justice sector institutions.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and coordination skills among the staffs and other concern stakeholders.
 
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Lead district level planning and budgeting of project in accordance with the guidelines, framework, policies and Project Proposal.
  • Ensure and support project staffs to develop monthly plan and monthly budget along with Project Operating Guideline (POG) and phased budget together with Admin/Finance Officer coordinating with organization’s ED.
  • Coordinate and maintain good relationship with local government, judicial committee, BAR, local communities, private sector, media, governance related mechanism, donors and other stakeholders and ensure that the execution of programme activities is done in close coordination and collaboration with all stakeholders involved and fund raising activity at local and nation level.
  • Submission of progress monthly, quarterly and annual reports to UNDP/A2J.
  • Supervise and support Subordinates field level staffs on management, technical enhancement through training, coaching and counseling.
  • Evaluate staff performance and recommendation
  • Program planning and implementation, prepare monthly action plan and mobilize the team members.
  • Responsible for overall handling of the project.
  • Follow and let the staff follow calendar and procedure of the project.
