Home > HRPLSC lunched LGCDP program in Rukum

Human Rights Protection and Legal Service Centre, HRPLSC –Nepal has launched Local Governance and Community Development Program (LGCDP) in Rukum District from 1st Magh 2071. The program conducted partnership with District Development committee (DDC). The program goal is to contribute towards poverty reduction through better local governance and community development. And Objective is to improve local governance for effective service delivery and citizen empowerment.
Under the Social Mobilization Guidelines 2071, the program wills implementation in participatory method in Rukum District. The program will contribute to Citizens and community organizations are empowered to actively participate and assert their rights in local governance,  Accountability mechanism for local governance are in place, LBs' access to resources increased, Public financial management system improved
Institutional and human resource capacities of LBs and central agencies involved in local governance strengthened, Strengthened integrated planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation and coordination amongst local governance actors and Refined policy on local governance and improved inter-agency cooperation.
As  per the provision for formation of Ward Citizenship Forum, Citizenship Awareness Center and Village Social Mobilization Coordination Committee at the village level. Even at the municipality, there are the Ward Citizens Forum and Citizens Awareness Center. So that HRPLSC will maintain well coordination and mobilization, raise awareness to all forums.
HRPLSC has covered 11 vdc like  Kanda,Morawang,Rukumkot,Pipal,Pokhara,Sylakhapa,Chiiwang,Bhalakcha,Rugha,Chunwang, and Chowang Vdc of the of Rukum district.
